CALF & LAMB DAY REMINDERS
11 Oct 2025

Our Calf & Lamb Day is around the corner, so just a couple of things to remind you about seeing this is the last weekend before it!

  • Letterboxes: This is one of the four indoor exhibits the children create for Calf & Lamb Day.  It is compulsory and is to be brought to school no later than Wednesday next week.  If you need reminding, below is the information which was communicated last term:
    • It must be able to be kept outdoors
    • It must be freestanding (though we do not need the stand for judging, just the letterbox itself)
    • It is to be no bigger than 500mm x 500mm x 500mm
  • Home Baking: Your children will have brought home a paper plate yesterday.  This can be used to bring your home baking to school on Thursday or Friday next week.  All baking will be sold in the cake stall.  Stuck for ideas on what to bake? Top sellers are Carrot Cake, Decorated Cupcakes, Banana Bread, Ginger Loaf and Individual slices.
  • Multi Draw raffle tickets: Please do your best to sell as many of your 10 allocated tickets as you can.  All ticket stubs, money and any unsold tickets are to be brought to school no later than Wednesday next week.  You are welcome to pay for the tickets online as well.  Please deposit directly into the Home & School account (12-3023-0416010-00) using your child's name and raffle tickets in the reference fields.
  •
  • A Calf & Lamb Day newsletter will be published on Tuesday with all other relevant information!

Remember to get in touch if you have any questions.

Enjoy your weekend!!

A Message from the Dental Nurses
8 Oct 2025

This is a message from the Dental Nurses:

Kia ora

Our Mobile Dental Unit will be visiting Mangatangi School in October. Children have regular dental checks to ensure their teeth and gums are healthy. It is free for 0 to 17 year olds.

We will begin inviting students from Mangatangi School for dental appointments from 7th October. If we have consent on file to see your child we will invite them over from class. You will receive a text message with the time of your child’s appointment. Sometimes we will have spots in the day where we can collect children from class and you may not get a text reminder. If you're not ok with this, call us to book an appointment. Parents and guardians are very important. You are most welcome to attend with your child. This way we can let you know what’s happening with your child’s teeth and mouth, tell you about the latest tips for a healthy smile and plan any additional care that may be required.

To change the appointment time, please phone us direct on 021 356 294, call 0800 TALK TEETH, or simply pop in to see us when you’re passing.

Feel free to make contact to book in your pre-schoolers as well.

Check-up appointments take about 20 minutes.

If you do not attend the appointment, please be sure to check your child’s bag regularly for any dental notices.

If we do not have consent on file we will send a dental consent form home for you to fill in and return to school.

Children without consent will NOT be seen.

We look forward to seeing your children.
